A Victorian Valentine’s Day wedding can be very sweet, beautiful, and is appropriate for all ages.A Victorian Valentine’s Day wedding can be a lovely affair. If you want the wedding to be traditional, there are many resources for brides on traditional Victorian weddings but there are lots of ways a bride can personalize her Victorian style Valentine’s Day wedding. Wear a vintage style gown, with lots of buttons, seed pearls, and lace. Dress your attendants in vintage style pink or red gowns with gloves, and have the groomsmen wear vintage tuxedos. With your vintage dress wear a headpiece of pearls. Wear fingerless gloves and carry deep red roses with lots of greenery. Have a vintage Victorian lace shawl in case it’s chilly, and give your attendants shawls that match their dresses. Shoes fit the theme best if they are kitten-heeled, Victorianstyle button slippers. To decorate the church, use lots of lace and Victorian style ribbons along with old-fashioned floral arrangements.

In the reception hall, cover all the tables with antique lace tablecloths, and use vintage Victorian style valentines as place cards. An artist or calligrapher can create custom place cards with Victorian decorations on lovely vintage papers. Decorate the hall to look like a traditional Victorian parlor or mansion ballroom and hang pretty Victorian valentines on strings all along the room along with beads and bits of lace. Create beautiful wedding favors for guests by wrapping small gift boxes of fine chocolates, hot cocoas, coffee, and other treats in vintage Victorian papers tied with bits of lace or gold edged ribbon and a personalized label with your names and the date on it.
